Distant Sky

Distant sky
Memories recede beyond the horizon
Sunlight splinters over saccharine islands
Frightened a clownfish scuttles away
Beneath the blonde haired Hollywood currents
East coast troubles and west end lovers
Pulp grey dust fills the air
Bathing in the sea of tranquillity
Bones rattling under skin
The virtue of a star
So often comes apart
Charm can be so strange
Mister rapped
Demanding explanation
I explained
The gold stained staircase
The blue eyes peered in
Lights grew away from each other
Distant sky begin
I never met her brother
I thought I was her twin
The silver screen fizzled and cracked
And turned a sighing mellow black
So I followed the man around the spiral
The same footsteps I'd walked before
A gorgeous girl, a cosmic smile
A song we sing forever more
